CAMECO at AGIAMONDO’s Summer Conference

Insights from Trust Building and Digital Security in Consulting

Emy Osorio Matorel, our Digital Strategy and Analysis Advisor, conducted a workshop on Digital Security at this year’s AGIAMONDO Summer Conference. The workshop focused on understanding risks and exploring ways to protect personal data and professional documents. Participants had the opportunity to seek answers to various questions, including the need for a Virtual Private Network (VPN), methods to minimise digital threats, and potential digital risks associated with the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The conference was held from June 26th to 28th in Siegburg, with its central theme revolving around Building Trust: Towards a Shared Understanding of Consulting. The primary aim of the event was to engage Consultants on Temporary Assignment (BaZ) and South-North Professionals, like Osorio Matorel, involved in consultative assignments for organisations in Germany. The focus was on exploring the prerequisites for building trust and fostering collaboration among participants, with the overarching goal of developing a common understanding of consulting. Throughout the conference, BaZ and South-North Professionals exchanged ideas and discussed commonalities and differences in their work.

Given the nature of BaZ’s work, including human rights issues, the emphasis on digital security was particularly crucial. Emy Osorio Matorel also provided a short training session for CAMECO’s team, where basic notions of Digital Safety were reviewed, and tailored recommendations for the team were provided.

Soon, CAMECO will be sharing a comprehensive toolkit and checklist for organisations interested in strengthening their digital security. This initiative goes beyond cybersecurity concerns to safeguard their employees and the communities involved in their work. Additionally, Osorio Matorel is available to deliver the workshop to other organisations, customised to meet their specific needs.
