CAMECO is accepting Cardinal Foley Fund applications for scholarships in graduate and postgraduate studies in (pastoral) communications. The fund, launched in memory of Cardinal John Patrick Foley, former President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, was established by the PCSC, several donor organisations and CAMECO, with the aim to broaden the base of qualified priests, religious and lay people with competence to further develop the communication ministry of local churches. For further details, please check the guidelines. Applications for the academic year 2015-2016 must be submitted by 15th February 2015.
Audience research is of crucial importance for international media development, and further steps are needed to strengthen local audience research capacities in developing countries. These are the major conclusions of the 10th Symposium of the Forum Media and Development (FoME) which was organized by CAMECO in Bonn, Germany, on November 6th and 7th, 2014. About one hundred media practitioners and researchers from all over the world met to exchange and discuss experiences where audience research has been used to enhance the performance of media houses and development programmes.
After 26 years with CAMECO, of which 16 as Executive Director, Dr. Daniela Frank will be leaving us in May, 2015.
