CAMECO

Freedom of Expression, Dialogue, Participation

CAMECO was selected as a partner organisation to showcase the media assistance of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation (BMZ)

The BMZ has published a video highlighting the importance of media development cooperation. Entitled "Freedom of Expression, Dialogue, Participation: BMZ Promotes Free Media and Media Literacy Worldwide" it showcases the work of three partner organisations – Deutsche Welle Akademie (DWA), Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and CAMECO. The 6-minute video references reporters Without Borders' initiatives to protect journalists in Mexico, DWA’s support for Ukrainian media and its cooperation with the Namibian Media Literacy Network MiLLi. From the BMZ-funded CAMECO projects, support for community radios in South and Southeast Asia was selected, which aims to empower local communities to develop ways out of worsening poverty. The project was planned and is being implemented in cooperation with AMARC Asia-Pacific, the autonomous regional branch of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
